This podcast that I have found is called “Developing Fluency” with “Reading Rockets with WETA”. I came across this podcast and thought it would be beneficial towards me because I just got a job position in a grade 2 class and I checked the background of the children and their reading levels are a bit low and I’m beginning to think of things I can do with their literacy development.
So this is one of the things that I will be doing with the students. Feel free to give suggestions on ways to help with their literacy development, and make comments on the podcast. Here is the link for my podcast, so after you click on this, you scroll down to the topic “FLUENCY: developing fluency” this is a great website for language arts and I’m sure it will give you all great ideas in the classroom. If there are any problems with the way i linked this website to find my podcast please feel free to give suggestions or ideas on how to make it easier to find.
Hope you all enjoy the Voice Thread. I look forward to hearing some comments or suggestions. So here is thlink to my very first voice thread: Click here

Hi there everyone, I’m having some problems with my flickr. I was wondering how I get my pictures of myself, on my flickr pictures at the bottom left hand side of my blog, instead of posting them on a blog entry, because every time i try send them to my blog, they go to a blog entry and my pictures are HUGE. Anyways i hope to hear from someone. take care and hope you all have fun blogging and doing your tech tasks and final projects.

well I am a little confused with where I should even begin with my final project. I have been really busy these past couple of weeks and haven’t had the time to explore on voice thread or podcasts just yet. However, I do know what I want to do for my final project and that is to create either a podcast or voice thread of me teaching the viewers how to do all sorts of technology lessons in the classroom, and the advantages and disadvantages of each idea. Some things I would like to teach on my voice thread or podcast are: shared writing with Comic Life, Pattern Writing with iPhoto, Story Books with iPhoto, Concept Mapping online, Podcasts, Voice Thread, Movie making with iMovie, GarageBand, and many more ideas. However, my one question to any of you viewers, is what is best to use before I begin exploring? Should I use a podcast or voice thread to do this presentation?

I was mentoring with Maria Knees Kindergarten classroom and the one lesson she did was “candy heart math” when I read what she did with her class for valentines day, I realized that I did a similar lesson during my internship with Easter math. I thought that making her lesson with candy is a great idea because hey…as we all know kids LOVE candy, and its a great way to get and keep their attention. I had did a similar lesson to this during Easter. I had put a bunch of candy (smarties) in easter eggs and the kids got to open their Easter eggs and do their math graphing with the smarties. Afterwards, they then got to eat their candies, and they absolutely loved my lesson…well I guess anything with candy is GREAT! Anyways, just thought I’d share my lesson that worked great with my grade 1’s.

Wow, after that one class a couple of weeks ago, I had just realized how cool the internet is. During class, we were connected to many different teachers from all over the world, sharing ideas and all signed on to teach us about blogging. Just today, I had said to my friend who is a teacher, “what really is blogging, I don’t understand it, and I don’t see how I can have use for it.” Now after class, I called her up and explained just how amazing blogging is, and how we as educators can use blogging (i.e., not only for teaching and sharing what your students do in your classroom with the school community; but for sharing ideas, and getting answers and help from other teachers from all over the world). The only obstacle for me right now for expanding my links to other teachers is the demands of other classes that is going on with me at this time. However, as a new teacher I plan on expanding my contacts by networking out there in the internet world to share new ideas with teachers that are passionate about the new technology today! Wish me luck on my journey!
